Walker and Barrett to face off in June

Last night, residents from all over WI took to the polls for primary elections in the Scott Walker recall. As expected Tom Barrett beat Kathleen Falk by a 24 point margin. That is pretty huge, the local newspaper even headlines, 'Huge victory margin for Barrett; (the second part is the real story) Massive GOP turnout for Walker'
Being left leaning like almost all print news, they try and hide the fact that Scott Walker got more votes than Barrett and Falk combined! Ok, maybe not hide, but they definitely try to downplay it :-). Walker received 626,538 votes total. As previously mentioned it was well over the combined total for Barret and Falk. What should worry the Dems is the overall Democratic turnout. All votes cast by Dems yesterday totaled roughly 670,000. Why should this scare them? Walker was a mere 50,000 votes shy of getting more votes than all democrats who voted total in a PRIMARY WHERE A LOT OF GOP VOTERS DIDN'T NEED TO GO.

I know several people who did not vote yesterday and will be voting in June. Why? They knew he would win the primary. To simplify Scott Walker DOMINATED a primary election where there was little motivation to vote from the GOP.

Barrett will have a very tough month ahead of him. Especially without the support of the group that started the recall hype.
